Quick burning candle ~ fast results, request will be answered quickly but may not last long. When burning two candles to represent two people and one burns quicker than the other there could be in balance in the relationship.

Candle smokes heavily when first lit ~ energy is moving, spirits are working

Clean burning (little or no wax left, clear/white smoke) ~ blessing, request will be answered

Dirty burning (black soot or messy wax) ~ may be obstacles in the way, negative energies at work, stressful or tense situation. If the candle burns black and then clears up at the end this could mean that the negativity has been burned away.

It's that time of the year again. We open our homes and share our traditions and celebrations with family and friends. Many people like to make it a ritual to do a house blessing around the New Year. This is a great time to call in those things we want for the coming year.

Here are some tips for an effective House Blessing...

Make your own simple House Blessing Water

River Water
Ocean Water
Rain Water
Spring Water
Florida Water

Mix the waters in a spray bottle. Shake the bottle speaking aloud the blessings you want to invoke into this House Blessing Water (prosperity, health, peace, protection, etc.). Spray the water as you enter your front door...again speak your intentions for the coming year. What things are you casting for 2006? Spray the water throughout your home naming those blessings aloud.

Here is a House Blessing Spell that is easy to do. You will need...
Peaceful Home candle (or a plain blue candle)
4 Dimes (mercury dimes, leap year dimes, birthdates, etc. would be great years to use)
House Blessing Oil or Florida Water
Piece of Torn Off Brown Paper Bag for Name Paper

Dress your candle with the oil. Depending on what kind of candle you have, you will dress it accordingly. If you decide to use Florida Water...just pour some on a cotton ball and wipe the candle with it.

Next, prepare your Name Paper. Write the names of all the people in your home...one under the other. Turn the paper clockwise a quarter-turn then cross the names with your wishes and intentions (prosperity, health, peace, protection, etc.).

Place your prepared candle ontop of the Name Paper. Place the 4 Dimes around the candle in each of the directions (East, South, West, North). Burn your candle while speaking your intentions. Sit with the candle a few minutes and concentrate on your wishes. Let the candle burn itself out.

When the candle is out, place the 4 Dimes in the 4 directions in your home. You can also bury them on your property. Take the name paper and any leftover wax from the candle and place it in the center of your home (in a cabinet or closet, under a table, bury it under your house, etc.). Your work is done. The spell is cast.

Combining these two magickal techniques is most powerful!

I have had a few requests from women in the past couple of weeks for a spiritual bath recipe for general cleansing. This bath is great for healing, blessings, protection and strength and general spiritual cleansing for women.

Here is a great basaic recipe:

Hyssop
Rosemary
Angelica Root
Sea Salt
Lemon Balm
Thyme
Florida Water

Do this bath for 7 days, preferably each morning. Prepare the herbs
in water like you would a strong tea. Strain the herbs from the tea.

While the tea is cooling take a shower or bath to clean yourself and
make sure you clean the tub and shower after. Light two white
candles and place then on either side of the tub or shower where you
will enter. Get your cooled tea (lukewarm) and add the florida water
and sea salt. With the tea in hand, enter the tub concentrating on
cleansing your body, mind and spirit from whatever concerns you.

Pour the tea over your head 7 times and say a prayer each time such
as "I release myself from all worry, disease, illness, hardship,
negativity and anyone that intends to do me harm." (or use words
that are specific to your situation). When you are done exit the tub
and let yourself air dry. But on fresh new clothes and take any
remaining tea (or tea you collect from the tub) and the leftover
herbs to a crossroads or dispose of them by throwing them to the
west (the direction of the setting sun). Walk away not looking back
but looking forward to a freshly cleansed new you.

Clean your body in the tub or shower before taking your spiritual bath. After you have taken your bath or shower clean the

tub to prepare for the spiritual bath.

Put mint, rue, fennel and angelica and a pinch of black pepper into a tea strainer or muslin bag and place the bag into a clean heat safe glass bowl.

Boil water and pour it into the bowl making sure the herb bag is covered.

Dress two white candles with Van Van oil and place them on either side where you will enter and exit the tub.

Draw a warm bath, light the candles and pour the water from the bowl into the tub.

Step between the lit candles into the tub. Completely immerse yourself. Soak for 7 minutes praying for the negative energy.

to be removed. Completely immerse yourself 3 times. Rub down your body to remove the negative energy.

When you are finished exit the tub between the two lit candles. Allow yourself to air dry.

Gather the candle remains and herbs from the herb bag.

Once you are dry, travel to a place far from your home and bury the candle remains and herbs.
